Safety warning: SAR Ops Sit Harness
We have recently discovered a SAR Ops Sit Harness on which the webbing was incorrectly threaded. Whilst there have been no reports of accidents relating to this, we are issuing a NOTICE FOR IMMEDIATE INSPECTION of all SAR Ops Sit Harnesses.
This notice applies to all SAR Ops Sit Harnesses, regardless of
Date of Manufacture (DoM) or Serial Number.
Users must immediately inspect their SAR Ops Sit Harness and must
quarantine any harness with incorrectly threaded webbing, or if
there is any doubt about the webbing. The user should submit images
to sales@sar-products.com for verification if they identify a
potential issue.
In cases where SAR Ops Sit Harnesses have been re-sold, issued, or
otherwise distributed, it is the explicit responsibility of the
reseller, issuer, or distributor to ensure that the end user is
alerted to this notice and its importance.
No other SAR harnesses are affected by this notice. Additional
steps are already in place to ensure no reoccurrence of this
event.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. The
safety of users of our products remains our absolute highest
priority.
Example of incorrectly threaded webbing. Note that the belay loop is captured by the retaining loop only, and that the main crutch system webbing does not pass through the belay loop.
